Winter Go-Karts Season is Done - Thanks for all who participated
Sunday, March 24 was Trillium's final race for our 2019 Winter Go-Kart Series held at K1Speed Kartways in Downsview. Great attendance numbers made for competitive racing at each of the Sunday evening events that started back in January.
The racing was so fierce that often the time difference between the lead racer and 10th place was only 0.500s apart! These are some of the most evenly matched karts we've experienced, which made for a legitimate ego-boost or humbling "no-excuse" evening among the participants.
Kudos to everyone that attended the competitive events, looking forward to another series in January 2020 (most likely at the same location).
Results will be posted to the forum soon.

2019 Format and Point Structure
The format of each event includes a 12-lap qualifying session followed by two 16 lap races (total of 44 laps). The 2nd race will have the racers start in reverse-grid order from the 1st race & qualifying results (to make things interesting). The following point structure will be awarded as such:
1st place – 10 points
2nd place – 8 points
3rd place – 6 points
4th place – 5 points
5th place – 4 points
6th place – 3 points
7th place – 2 points
8th place – 1 point
9th place – 0 points
10th place – 0 points
K1 Speed has the ability to run 10 karts on the track at once/per session. If our group is larger than 10 competitors, we will run multiple heats. Each racer that qualifies to race in the ‘fastest’ heat is awarded a 5 point bonus. The overall results of this series will count towards points for the 2019 Competition Trophy presented at the AGM meeting held annually preceding the Christmas Dinner.
